Noma Residences

Using art to beautify Parcel Property's new Mosman Park development.

Context

Noma is the new boutique neighbourhood development in Mosman Park by Parcel Property. The vision was to create a place with refined architectural design, exemplary attention to detail, warmth and personality, taking inspiration from the western suburbs’ unique lifestyle and the area’s rich heritage, natural environment and idyllic location between the Swan River and Indian Ocean.

Process

As always we began with understanding the history of the area to establishing a curatorial theme, then shortlisting a select group of artists who to create concepts sympathetic to the site, Noma’s residents and Mosman Park locals.  After creating and overseeing artist briefing, we commissioned artwork concepts and presented them to our Client for final selection.

Along the laneway the architects and landscape architects have created a series of garden beds, arched arbors and benches to pause and enjoy the outdoor space.  It is amongst these elements that we have located a series of sculptures by April Pine that will play with light and shadow by day and illuminate by night, attracting attention and drawing pedestrians through.

Outcome

Art Theory’s experience allowed for a quick turn-around and in turn kept the project programme to stay on track.  Our expertise in coordinating services and structural details with the artist continues to save time, resources and facilitate a streamlined journey.  Due for completion late 2022.
